4-Days: Best Desert Tour from Marrakech
Day 1 : Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Pick up from your hotel in Marrakech and transfer to the verdant oasis of Dades Gorge, crossing the High Atlas Mountains at a summit of 2260m (Tizi N’tichka). You will enjoy the scenes of Berber life in old villages and dramatic mountain scenery. We continue to descend until you finally reach Ouarzazate where we stop for lunch. Later the road continues to Skoura through the palm groves and the Town of Roses, Kela’a M’Gouna. We will pass the colourful Berber villages before we reach Dades Gorges where we stop for dinner and sleep.
Night 1 : Hotel at Dades Gorges
Day 2 : Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast at your hotel, we continue to Tinghir towards the Todra Gorges. Here you will find a very different type of gorge than the Dades. There are opportunities to hike for an hour or so along the valley bottom. Lunch will either be here in the gorges or later at Bivouac at the Erg Chebbi Dunes. In the afternoon, we leave to Erfoud via Tinjedad, where we’ll see the old underground irrigation system and view fossils from original excavation sites before we reach the dunes of Merzouga by Erg Cebbi. After a rest, you will have the chance to ride a camel directly to the oasis where you will enjoy the night with dinner and entertainment under the nomad tent or under starlight.
Night 2 : Luxury Camp at desert Erg Chebbi
Day 3 : Merzouga – Resani - Alnif - N’kob
This morning in the desert, if you wake early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the colour of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. The itinerary continues to Tafilalt Valley via the biggest local market of Erresani City. After a visit, we will continue through Alnif where we stop for lunch. We will reach N’kob in late afternoon where we have our over night in a kasbah hotel.
Night 3 : Kasbah in N’kob
Day 4 : N’kob – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast in the Kasbah, we drive to Dara Valley, then continue to visit Kasbah Taourirt in the town which belonged to the Glaoui Family, the Pashas of Marrakech. Driving north, you leave the main road and take a side road to Ait ben Haddou, which also belonged to the Lords of the Atlas, the Glaoui Family. This is the most famous Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also well-known as being the backdrop to many Hollywood blockbusters. The road then continues along the Ounila Valley with beautiful and prosperous villages, stunning mountains and vies to Telouet, where you will stop to visit the Kasbah and perhaps have lunch. We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
